Old School Mani: Milani Lavender Twinkle

Why hello all you lovely polish lovers out there. How have you all been? I've been having an absolutely awesome day so far and I hope you've been having the same! Today's mani is a throw back to the old school days -- the days when I had no clue how to properly appreciate nail polish. Yes... this polish is an oldie but a goodie. It was recently given to me by a wonderful fellow polish lover who I got to know through this awesome online community. She not only fulfilled several of my long time lemmings, but she also introduced me to some fabulous polishes that I never even knew existed before my time! It is only appropriate, of course, that I share this wonderful beauty with you all. So here I have for you Milani Lavender Twinkle...

Ahhh!!! You must enlarge the pictures to fully appreciate the beauty of this polish in all it's glory.  This was 4 coats >_< I usually don't like doing that many coats but trust me, this one was worth it (even with some shrinkage due to my fast dry top coat). Not only is it a soft lavender-grey, it also comes packed with hints of blue and purple shimmer. I couldn't help but stare at it all day especially when it caught the sun and just sparkled like mad! Unfortunately, this one is long discontinued (as are some other fabulous ones no doubt). I'm sure there are a ton of beauties that came out before I started getting into nail polish but I feel pretty lucky that I own this one. What do you guys think? Are there any polishes "before your time" when you wish you had been a nail polish fiend fanatic? ^_^

Mythical Creatures Week: Mermaid Thursday

Ooh, sorry for the late post ladies but better late than never right? =) I couldn't capture this mani while there was good sunlight so you will just have to do with these terribly lit pics. Apologies!

Sunlight-ish pics

Pics under artificial lighting - which I think looks a little better actually.

My base color was Milani's holographic gold polish in 3D. I stamped plate BM217 using China Glaze's Harmony (purple), Adore (blue), and Cherish (green). Finally, I layered it over with Nubar Opulent Pearl which is a subtle flakie that's not very visible in these photos.

Hrmm, this mani wasn't too bad to do. The only thing that gave me trouble was thinking of a concept and then choosing the colors. The execution of it all was actually pretty smooth.  When I put on the Milani 3D polish, I don't think it really suited my skintone but with the layering of the "mermaid scales" on top, it didn't turn out too shabby I don't think hahah. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this mani. Until tomorrow, folks!

Milani 3D Holographic Cyberspace

This is a beautiful light blue scattered (subtle) holo polish. The holo effect is as not pronounced as it is in other notable polishes but this one is still definitely beautiful! This was 2 coats on top of a base coat. No top coat. Click pictures to expand =)

Outdoors in natural light

These were in direct sunlight. Pretty!

I decided to match my pedi with my mani as well! Hahah

This is a very easy-to-get polish sold at most drugstores.  I got mine personally at a local Walgreens. Pricing is around $4-5.  If you don't have any holos yet, this one is a good place to start!

Oh goodness, my Konad stuff is on the way but the wait is killing me! They're supposed to come today so I'm pretty much freaking out at every "big truck" sound that passes by just *hoping* that it's the delivery dude. Eek! Hopefully my packages come quick so I can get over this waiting anxiety!
