Mythical Creatures Week: Unicorn Friday

Aahh, I must say that I absolutely *love* the mythical creature today. Unicorns are one of my favorite fantasy/imaginary type of creatures and I couldn't be more happy to do a mani focused around that theme! Here I have a mani that was inspired by a member of MUA named Jiloverz and she did an incredible job with the original. This is my humble attempt at paying homage to her so I hope it doesn't disappoint! Beware, lots of pics ahead! =)

All pictures taken in the sunlight to *try* to capture the holographic effects!

So I used all my China Glaze OMG polishes in addition to Nubar Reclaim to get that true green holo color in as well. Stamped with Sally Hansen White Out and image plate BM201. Ahh!! This mani is so amazing in real life, you must try it out! So sparkly! So ... so holo! It's kind of what I'd like to think unicorn barf would look like - holo stripes and rainbows lol. I hope you enjoyed this mani because I sure did! And yay to the weekend... it's freaking Friday! TGIF! (can you tell how excited I am? hahahah)

Mythical Creatures Week: Mermaid Thursday

Ooh, sorry for the late post ladies but better late than never right? =) I couldn't capture this mani while there was good sunlight so you will just have to do with these terribly lit pics. Apologies!

Sunlight-ish pics

Pics under artificial lighting - which I think looks a little better actually.

My base color was Milani's holographic gold polish in 3D. I stamped plate BM217 using China Glaze's Harmony (purple), Adore (blue), and Cherish (green). Finally, I layered it over with Nubar Opulent Pearl which is a subtle flakie that's not very visible in these photos.

Hrmm, this mani wasn't too bad to do. The only thing that gave me trouble was thinking of a concept and then choosing the colors. The execution of it all was actually pretty smooth.  When I put on the Milani 3D polish, I don't think it really suited my skintone but with the layering of the "mermaid scales" on top, it didn't turn out too shabby I don't think hahah. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this mani. Until tomorrow, folks!

Mythical Creatures Week: Dragon Wednesday

Hello Lovelies, today's mani for mythical creatures week (if you can't already tell from the title) is the Dragon! PeekTorZ below.

Different areas in the sunlight

Under artificial light. Look at that holo! =D

On my main nails, I used Zoya Apple as a base. I then stamped over it with China Glaze Cherish from the Romantique Collection using image plate BM209 from the second bundle monster set. I then french tipped with Nubar Reclaim (a stunning green holo =D). My accent nail is OPI DS Reflection for the base and I free handed the flames with Art Deco in Yellow and Orange.

This mani was actually easy peasy once the polishes were dry. I hope I captured the scales of a dragon on my main nails and its fire-y breath on my ring finger hahah. Fun times, this mani was =). Tomorrow's theme is Mermaid nails - I'm wracking my brain trying to think of something for that one and I can't come up with anything yet! Eek, time to start brainstorming. Happy middle of the week, y'all!

Mythical Creatures Week: Fairy Tuesday

I don't have time to write much for today's post so you will just have to make do with pictures =). The following is my attempt at a fairy mani for Tuesday's mythical creature. Enjoy!

In the sun

In the shade

Base colors from thumb to pinkie: OPI Glacier Bay Blues, China Glaze Little
Drummer Boy, Essie Aruba Blue, Essie Dive Bar, Sally Hansen Navy Baby

Edited to add: So for the stamps, I used China Glaze IDK, a light purple holo, from the OMG collection. The plates I used were Mash M50 for the stars and GCOCL A02 (the Hello Kitty plate) for the butterfly/fairy wings. I used Art Deco in White for the bigger dots and China Glaze White on White on a toothbrush and sprinkled it across the nails for the speckled effect. I hope that helps! =)

That's all for today people! Thanks for reading and Happy Tuesday =)

Mythical Creatures Week: Vampire Monday

So Makeup Alley (MUA) has deemed it Mythical Creatures Week! It's pretty exciting to come up with a different yet creative mani every day for an entire week straight. I hope I'm up for the challenge! Monday brings us our first mythical creature - the Vampire. Vampires were once mere mortals who were turned into blood lusting creatures shunned by daylight and forced to live in darkness for the rest of eternity. Dramatic enough for you? Hahaha... then I hope this mani lives up to your expectations!

Rawr! Thirsty for some blood yet? =P

I had an extremely fun time doing this mani. First, I matte-ified the China Glaze Ruby Pumps on my main nails then did a shiny jagged french. They didn't happen to stand out as much as I'd like so I added some black jagged french tips with Sally Hansen's Blackout. The accent nail was Jitter Bug underneath OPI's Red Shatter. This is a really easy mani to do and if you're patient, you can easily get the same dramatic effect!  I hope you lovely ladies enjoyed this.  I'm excited for tomorrow's mani and I'm wracking my brain trying to think of a creative way to do that one. Totally looking forward to it! Until then, Happy Vampire Monday everyone!

Yummy polishes!

So, who is YOUR favorite vampire? =P The inner tween in me finds it necessary to include pictures of the Salvatore Brothers for some much needed eye candy lol.
