China Glaze Reggae to Riches

What what?? Out of the blue post? Yes! Out of the blue post indeed! I initially titled this post Revlon Reggae to Riches as my love for alliteration almost got the best of me :P. This is actually a China Glaze polish called Reggae to Riches which was released long before my polish loving time. I first saw it on Scrangie's blog and immediately fell in love! I bought it quite some time ago but OF COURSE I didn't break it out till now. Le duh, you guys should expect no less from me :P ... Anyway, RtR is a beautiful fuchsia (read: NOT fuschia --> fun fact... I just say "f@#&, see yah" in my head to spell it correctly...yeah, cool story bro) with a sometimes subtle, sometimes vibrant electric blue shimmer. Here are the pics! First off, some with flash:

@_@ Ermahgerd y'all... it's sooo puuurdy! *fans self* I noticed that my swatches are a lot darker than most I've seen online. This is most likely due to my penchant for thick (and I mean thick) polish coats. I like 'em thick, okay?! Don't judge me! I must sound a little cray right now. Maybe it's the excitement of coming back from hiatus to write a new blog post?? Whatever it may be, thanks for reading... I know I've been so bad with updating but you guys still show love! Weee! As you've noticed, I've been on a huge indie kick as of late. It sure doesn't seem to show signs of stopping... at least not in the near future anyway. I hope you all aren't getting tired of it as I have about a billion more indies to try out. They are literally popping up left and right, I'm not sure I can even keep up at this point! Anyway, time to mosey on with my lazy self. Happy Thursday. =)

Old School Mani: Milani Lavender Twinkle

Why hello all you lovely polish lovers out there. How have you all been? I've been having an absolutely awesome day so far and I hope you've been having the same! Today's mani is a throw back to the old school days -- the days when I had no clue how to properly appreciate nail polish. Yes... this polish is an oldie but a goodie. It was recently given to me by a wonderful fellow polish lover who I got to know through this awesome online community. She not only fulfilled several of my long time lemmings, but she also introduced me to some fabulous polishes that I never even knew existed before my time! It is only appropriate, of course, that I share this wonderful beauty with you all. So here I have for you Milani Lavender Twinkle...

Ahhh!!! You must enlarge the pictures to fully appreciate the beauty of this polish in all it's glory.  This was 4 coats >_< I usually don't like doing that many coats but trust me, this one was worth it (even with some shrinkage due to my fast dry top coat). Not only is it a soft lavender-grey, it also comes packed with hints of blue and purple shimmer. I couldn't help but stare at it all day especially when it caught the sun and just sparkled like mad! Unfortunately, this one is long discontinued (as are some other fabulous ones no doubt). I'm sure there are a ton of beauties that came out before I started getting into nail polish but I feel pretty lucky that I own this one. What do you guys think? Are there any polishes "before your time" when you wish you had been a nail polish fiend fanatic? ^_^
