White Glitter Layering

Hi all. So I've been meaning to do some type of layering mani but I never had the time (or patience) to do one until recently. I couldn't really decide on what I wanted to do but since I haven't worn any white colors lately I tried to use up some of my white polishes.

Whites I used: Sally Hansen White On, China Glaze
White on White, Zoya Lucy, LA Colors Silver Glitter

Shade

Sun

So first I put on one thick layer of Sally Hansen White On. This color had a nice opaque finish which helped with concealing any visible nail line. Next, I used one thin layer of China Glaze White on White to fill in any gaps and to also give the white a "softer" appearance along with being a little bit more "milk/jelly" looking. I applied 2 coats of the silver glitter on top of that because it was somewhat sparse. Then, I put one good coat of Zoya Lucy on top of everything. To seal it all off, I put on one thin layer of a shiny top coat. It looked preeeettty thick when I first applied everything but once it dried it had a much better looking finish.  Overall, I'm happy with the results so hopefully my future layering experiments will turn out well, too! Hope you guys are having a wonderful weekend! =)

Mythical Creatures Week: Dragon Wednesday

Hello Lovelies, today's mani for mythical creatures week (if you can't already tell from the title) is the Dragon! PeekTorZ below.

Different areas in the sunlight

Under artificial light. Look at that holo! =D

On my main nails, I used Zoya Apple as a base. I then stamped over it with China Glaze Cherish from the Romantique Collection using image plate BM209 from the second bundle monster set. I then french tipped with Nubar Reclaim (a stunning green holo =D). My accent nail is OPI DS Reflection for the base and I free handed the flames with Art Deco in Yellow and Orange.

This mani was actually easy peasy once the polishes were dry. I hope I captured the scales of a dragon on my main nails and its fire-y breath on my ring finger hahah. Fun times, this mani was =). Tomorrow's theme is Mermaid nails - I'm wracking my brain trying to think of something for that one and I can't come up with anything yet! Eek, time to start brainstorming. Happy middle of the week, y'all!

Friday's French Skittles

First off, Happy Friday everyone! Aren't you glad the weekend is *just* around the corner? What I have for you today is a huge picture spam of my latest mani.  It's a skittle (different colors on each nail) but in the form of french tips! I don't think I've seen this before but if you have or have done so yourself, please share! =) Alright, no more words, onto the pics!

Hahah, I know these are practically the same pictures but I
wanted to show the mani under different types of lighting =P

My hand looks so weird like this! lol

Can you believe I used ALL these colors for this mani?? Fun times!

This mani consisted of Sally Hansen Disco Ball over Zoya Lucy for the base. From thumb tip to pinkie tip, I used Color Club Pucci-licious, Orly Cashmere Cardigan, OPI Planks A Lot, Essie Nice is Nice, and Zoya Caitlin.

So I've been waiting for a nail polish package to come in the mail but USPS hasn't confirmed the delivery yet and its no where to be found! It was supposed to come yesterday but I haven't seen it anywhere -- I hope it's not lost in nail polish limbo. That would be horrible!  Crossing my fingers here. Anyways, the sunshine is finally back! And in other exciting news, one of my girlfriends is treating me out to a salon pedi today! Yay!!! I'm going to meet her up in a few minutes here and I can't wait! So many exclamation marks! Happy Friday everyone. =) Go out and enjoy your weekend!

First Pink Wednesday!

So it's my first ever Pink Wednesday post and I've been contemplating about what kind of mani I wanted to do. I came across Chloe's blog and found this awesome funky french tutorial using scotch tape and I thought I'd give it a go but put my own little twist on it! I used Let Them Eat Rice Cake from OPI's Japanese Collection - I think it's an older polish because it still has the thin brush. I then topped it off with Seche Vite and waited a couple minutes for it to dry. I cut my scotch tape and used Zoya's Lolly polish from the 2011 Mod Matte Collection to give it an interesting look. I hope you guys enjoy!

 These were taken indoors.

I tried to take outdoor shots but it's been so gloomy so I apologize
for the craptastic lighting! I will try to make a lightbox soon =)

I think my thumb actually looks best because I was lazy and just
kept reusing the same piece of tape over and over again hahah!

I think this went well! Next time, I'll just cut new pieces of tape for each nail so the lines can be more crisp. Overall though, I really enjoyed doing this mani and hopefully I can use scotch tape to do other ones in the future!  My first Pink Wednesday is complete =)

Thank you to these two beautiful ladies ^_^

Zoya Gemma

Today, I have for you an absolutely GORGEOUS military/olive green color by Zoya. Her name is Gemma -- and she does not disappoint!

What a beauty!

Here she is outdoors in direct sunlight. Can you see that
purple shimmer peaking through?! UGH, just amazing.

In the shade.

Indoors under artificial light.

Well, that is all for today. I hope you all are having a great Wednesday. The work week is already almost half over! Woohoo!
