Easter Nails
Guys, I am so excited! I just found out that G from Nouveau Cheap decided to feature my Easter mani in this post. It's such an honor to have been chosen for her Easter round up <3. Without further ado, here is my lazy weekend post featuring that very mani.

Tuxedo Nails
Hey everyone! I hope you all have been well. As you've noticed, there are a few small changes to my blog. I stayed up late last night tinkering with a few layouts and such. I hope everything is now easier to read and the site is easier to navigate (not that it was a big problem before, I don't think). Bonus pop out Facebook "like" tab on the side and Pinterest buttons below every post, yay! Now onto more important business...
I always wanted to do a tuxedo mani but never had the time or patience to sit down and figure out how I wanted to go about doing so. Well that no longer is true! Let's take a look at what I came up with, shall we?
I used China Glaze White on White, a slightly off white creme, for the base and Wet n Wild Ebony Hates Chris for the tuxedo "accents". I actually used tape for the edges and just free handed the ties and buttons with dotting tools. This mani was quite easier than I had anticipated so I'm glad it wasn't as big of a pain in the bum as I initially thought it would be. So what do you guys think? Am I ready for my formal dinner and acceptance speech? =P Have any of you guys tried any tuxedo manis as of late or even in the past for that matter?
Also, I'd like to say a quick thank you to all my followers! I passed the 300 mark several days ago and that just made my day. You guys are wonderful -- I appreciate all your support! Stay awesome, you awesome people you. =P Giveaway details coming sometime in the near future...

A Hello Kitty Valentine's Day
Why hello all you beauties out there. Did you all have a lovely Valentine's Day? I sure hope so! Today's polish is kinda special. This mani actually features the first salon-esque polish I ever bought before I became seriously addicted in love (oh, how apropo!) with nail polish =). I walked into my local Ulta searching for a nice red to go with a black cocktail dress I had in mind for a special event. The color I ended up with was China Glaze High Roller - a true red creme that leaned ever-so-slightly towards the jellyish side. This was my first ever China Glaze peeps!!! And then you could probably guess what happened soon after that *shifty eyes towards polish stash*...
Anyway! If you're wondering why my accent nail looks so familiar, it's because it's also featured in my profile picture! This was the first type of nail art I ever did and I thought it was only fitting to dedicate this mani to my first loves. So naturally this had to include Hello Kitty ^_^. Without further ado, here is my Valentine's Day mani...
I used the LA Colors Art Deco striping polishes to freehand the Hello Kitty onto my accent nail and finished it off with a simple french using China Glaze's Ring in the Red from the most recent 2011 Winter Holiday collection. Hope you guys like it and hope you all got to celebrate with your sweethearts! Thanks for reading guys! XOXO

Newspaper Nails: OPI Steady As She Rose
Hi everyone! It seems like every weekend has been so busy for me... no time to blog! But I digress... Today's mani is my attempt at the ever-so-popular newspaper nails that some of you may have seen floating around the interwebZ. Lol. So instead of a plain ol' gray, my base color was OPI Steady As She Rose from the recent Pirates of the Caribbean Collection.
This mani brought to you by Monday's Newspaper =P
Your eyes are not deceiving you, the text IS backwards, lol!
Yay for bottle shots! Steady As She Rose is an almost
gray colored dusty pink creme. Great color for the office!
gray colored dusty pink creme. Great color for the office!
For the most part, I really liked doing this mani - but it was kind of a pain in the bum! I know there are several methods of doing these newspaper nails and I didn't have luck with the "brushing the rubbing alcohol on" method so I just did the "dip your nail in rubbing alcohol and press" method. If I were to attempt this mani again in the future, I'd probably press a littler harder/longer so that the text would show up a bit more. And yes, the text is backwards because the newspaper had to go over of the nail, hence transferring any text over to be a mirror image of what was actually printed. No one is gonna notice that though, trust me! Overall, good times. Happy Monday everyone!

Friday's French Skittles
First off, Happy Friday everyone! Aren't you glad the weekend is *just* around the corner? What I have for you today is a huge picture spam of my latest mani. It's a skittle (different colors on each nail) but in the form of french tips! I don't think I've seen this before but if you have or have done so yourself, please share! =) Alright, no more words, onto the pics!
Hahah, I know these are practically the same pictures but I
wanted to show the mani under different types of lighting =P
My hand looks so weird like this! lol
Can you believe I used ALL these colors for this mani?? Fun times!
This mani consisted of Sally Hansen Disco Ball over Zoya Lucy for the base. From thumb tip to pinkie tip, I used Color Club Pucci-licious, Orly Cashmere Cardigan, OPI Planks A Lot, Essie Nice is Nice, and Zoya Caitlin.
So I've been waiting for a nail polish package to come in the mail but USPS hasn't confirmed the delivery yet and its no where to be found! It was supposed to come yesterday but I haven't seen it anywhere -- I hope it's not lost in nail polish limbo. That would be horrible! Crossing my fingers here. Anyways, the sunshine is finally back! And in other exciting news, one of my girlfriends is treating me out to a salon pedi today! Yay!!! I'm going to meet her up in a few minutes here and I can't wait! So many exclamation marks! Happy Friday everyone. =) Go out and enjoy your weekend!

Floral Mauve Design
So I gave the Konad/fauxnad plates another try and while it didn't turn out perfect, I must say I am quite pleased! I was contemplating what color combination I should use and finally decided on some type of pink/mauve/pastel burgundy mix. I used Uptown Girl. a dusty mauve from Color Club's Spring 2010 Rebel Debutante Collection as a base. For stamping, I used Admire, a light pink silver-ish color from China Glaze's Spring 2009 Romantique Collection. I also used image plate BM 221.
These were all taken in direct sunlight.
These were taken in the shade.
I didn't think I'd like Uptown Girl at first because looking at the color itself in the bottle seems kinda flat to me. But when I painted it on the nail, it just looked gorgeous! I would totally wear it alone. I bought Admire and almost all the other China Glaze polishes from the Romantique Collection specifically for stamping because I heard they are a little streaky on their own. Either way, the color is fabulous and the designs came out (for the most part) great! I love this =)
*Sigh* So pretty!
It is has been absolutely beautiful outside lately. Go enjoy the weather everyone and Happy Friday! <3

My First Konad Design
My Konad packages finally arrived! I decided to try out my first design and of course it had to be the leopard print! I opted not to get the Konad special polishes so I could first experiment with some regular polishes I already own but now I think I will invest in some... the black isn't as dark as I'd hoped. Anyways, onto the pictures.
Just as I was about done with my nails, something TERRIBLE happened... Oh, the horror!!!
In the shade. I used China Glaze's Lemon Fizz &
For Audrey along with a Cosmetic Arts pink color.
In the sun. I had a hard time working fast enough!
Anyways, this will probably come off by the end of
tonight haha. I will probably be ordering the Konad
special polishes soon so I could try out all the other
designs without having the lack in color pay off.
Just as I was about done with my nails, something TERRIBLE happened... Oh, the horror!!!
My pink Cosmetic Arts polish came crashing down and
the top completely broke off spilling polish everywhere!
My life literally flashed before my eyes. A single tear
came rolling down my cheek.
This was so traumatic, I cringe as I'm typing this right now! I need to find some empty polish bottles but I honestly don't know where to look other than online. I guess I should go out to get some super cheapie ones so I can just dump out the polish in there and replace it with this one. But dumping out polish just sounds like it'll only add to the horrible-ness of the situation! Ahh well, c'est la vie. At least it wasn't any of my China Glaze, OPI, or God forbid my Nfu Oh bottles. I am guarding those with my life! Okay, onward to fix this situation STAT!

Cherry Poppin'
My first post. Didn't think I was going to get sucked into the nail polish craze but after several weeks of denial I've come to terms with my new addiction -- just another to add to my long list of obsessions. *le sigh* C'est la vie.
What's a post without pictures, amirite?? Over the last several weeks I started randomly trying out polishes and took some pictures along the way. Taken with my camera phone. Don't hate. Here they are -- please excuse this polish newbie's amateur attempts at painting nails -- growth is good, yeah?!? Pitty points, anyone?
*Claire's - Mood Color Changing Polish in Peaceful/Confident*
Peaceful (darker blue) shown here.
This is the one that started it all. Given to me by one of my GFs.
I'd wring her neck if I wasn't so happy she gave this to me.
*Wet n Wild - Heavenly*
This one makes me shudder. Ewww -- I did a terrible job
at applying this. Took this off probably within 15 minutes.
*Claire's - Mood Color Changing Polish in Happy/Earthy*
I dipped my nails in warm water just to get the effect.
Pretty cool, I think. And then things just sort of took off from here...
*China Glaze - Pelican Gray, Cosmetic Arts - green/blueish, Cosmetic Arts - purpleish*
My first attempt at creating some type of nail art. It was alright I guess.
Took forever though. This was before I discovered all the secrets
and tricks to having your nail polish dry faster. Sheesh!
*China Glaze - Strawberry Fields*
Here's where I started getting a little better at painting my nails.
I also began to invest in a few more polishes. My stash
has grown ever-so-somewhat-slowly since...

My attempt at a Hello Kitty design using Art Deco Polishes.
love love LOVE Hello Kitty with a FIERCE passion.
*FingerPaints - Natural Talent*
What I'm currently wearing. A little more appropriate
for work, I think. This was 5 coats! I was a little hesitant
when I first saw the color but it turned out nicely. I dunno
if I have the patience to wear it again anytime soon.
I am very tempted to go to my nearest beauty supply store tomorrow and pick up a buttload of new polishes. I recently made a 20+ polish purchase so I don't think my wallet is too happy with me right now. We shall see...
