Matte Grey + Blue Sprinkles
Hey guys! It's been a while since I've done a matte mani so I decided to pull out the matte top coat and put it to good use =). Today I've got on Maybelline Cool Couture as my base polish. Cool Couture is a limited edition polish that I believe came out some time in the Fall of this year. I did about 3 coats for good coverage. My glitter was actually done using a Japanese polish called Winmax in #10. This was actually found on one of my crazy nail polish adventures I previously blogged about. Pictures ahead!
So that is actually NOT the original polish bottle that the Winmax #10 came in. They came in a much smaller sized bottle and I bought two because it was so pretty. I then just went ahead and poured both into an empty bottle I had lying around and just transferred the labels. I did this with several of the other small polishes I had as well ^^. Anyway, that is all for today. I hope you all have a fabulous Friday. I am SO ready for the weekend!
I was told this looked like a dark chocolate
cupcake dipped in blue sprinkles lol

Funky French: Essence Irreplaceable + OPI Glitzerland
Hello beauties! Before I get into today's post, I just wanna tell you all really quickly that there is currently a deal on Saveology right now on a CVS gift card! You can click HERE to purchase a $10 gift card for only six bucks! I know they are currently having sales of buy one get one 50% off on brands including Revlon and such so I would definitely hurry over and grab the deal before it ends! In addition to that, you can stock up on your nail polish goodies and look for coupons online giving you either $4 off a $20 purchase or a $5 off a $25 purchase on top of that! If you also have ECBs, I don't think you're gonna be paying much at all. Some of my nail polish buddies have spotted several discontinued OPI shades at theirs!!! I think there's only a little over a day till the sale is over so go go go!
So on today's nails, I did a gold themed French tipped mani... but funk-tified! My base color is Essence Irreplaceable. This is a light tan with gold flecks that I matte-ified. It was so pretty when it was shiny but I wanted to give it a contrast to the tips. To complete the look, I used scotch tape to create a two stripe French with OPI Glitzerland.

Don't they kinda look like I dipped them into gold? =P
This mani was so hard to capture on camera!
Such a contrast in sizes heheh
I think this could be an awesome mani for a toga party or any Greek/Roman goddess type of Halloween look. It's not too crazy for every day wear either! I believe the Essence brand polishes were once an exclusive European brand but can now actually be found in the US at Ulta stores! Considering the mini size, the quality of the polish and brush were really great - and for $1 it's a heck of a steal. They had a good selection at mine so it was a win win for me. I *have* heard that they are going to be discontinuing some shades so this is an incentive to go out there and get them before they disappear forever!

Revlon Minted Matte Stripes
Before I begin this post, I'd just like to say a huge thank you to Cristina over at Let Them Have Polish for featuring my latest blog entry on her twitter and facebook. Many recent followers were directed to my blog because of her so thank you to YOU guys too! =) Welcome everybody, I hope you've enjoyed reading my current posts and hopefully my many posts to come. Do let me know if you have any suggestions or requests on any types of polishes or nail designs you'd like to see!
With that said, today's mani features a pastel green creme from Revlon called Minted. From what I know, Revlon also has a quick dry version with a silver cap called Jaded. Both are supposedly comparable to China Glaze's Refresh Mint from the Up and Away Collection. All three are really pretty! For the pattern, I actually used a matte and shiny stripe pattern using scotch tape. Scroll forth, dear reader!
As you can see, the pattern is really subtle but it still gives your nails a special finish! I really like it... it's a great way to spice up any color without being too over the top. It's also a nice way to get into nail art if you're not quite sure you want to be too bold yet. Hopefully this kick starts some ideas for you guys out there. Have a great Friday everyone! The weekend is *just* around the corner. =D

First Pink Wednesday!
So it's my first ever Pink Wednesday post and I've been contemplating about what kind of mani I wanted to do. I came across Chloe's blog and found this awesome funky french tutorial using scotch tape and I thought I'd give it a go but put my own little twist on it! I used Let Them Eat Rice Cake from OPI's Japanese Collection - I think it's an older polish because it still has the thin brush. I then topped it off with Seche Vite and waited a couple minutes for it to dry. I cut my scotch tape and used Zoya's Lolly polish from the 2011 Mod Matte Collection to give it an interesting look. I hope you guys enjoy!
These were taken indoors.
I tried to take outdoor shots but it's been so gloomy so I apologize
for the craptastic lighting! I will try to make a lightbox soon =)
I think my thumb actually looks best because I was lazy and just
kept reusing the same piece of tape over and over again hahah!
I think this went well! Next time, I'll just cut new pieces of tape for each nail so the lines can be more crisp. Overall though, I really enjoyed doing this mani and hopefully I can use scotch tape to do other ones in the future! My first Pink Wednesday is complete =)
Thank you to these two beautiful ladies ^_^
