Hey everyone! I hope you all have been well. As you've noticed, there are a few small changes to my blog. I stayed up late last night tinkering with a few layouts and such. I hope everything is now easier to read and the site is easier to navigate (not that it was a big problem before, I don't think). Bonus pop out Facebook "like" tab on the side and Pinterest buttons below every post, yay! Now onto more important business...
I always wanted to do a tuxedo mani but never had the time or patience to sit down and figure out how I wanted to go about doing so. Well that no longer is true! Let's take a look at what I came up with, shall we?
I used China Glaze White on White, a slightly off white creme, for the base and Wet n Wild Ebony Hates Chris for the tuxedo "accents". I actually used tape for the edges and just free handed the ties and buttons with dotting tools. This mani was quite easier than I had anticipated so I'm glad it wasn't as big of a pain in the bum as I initially thought it would be. So what do you guys think? Am I ready for my formal dinner and acceptance speech? =P Have any of you guys tried any tuxedo manis as of late or even in the past for that matter?
Also, I'd like to say a quick thank you to all my followers! I passed the 300 mark several days ago and that just made my day. You guys are wonderful -- I appreciate all your support! Stay awesome, you awesome people you. =P Giveaway details coming sometime in the near future...

Blue Holo Funky French
Well hello my lovelies! How is everyone doing this fine October Sunday? Well, Sunday where I am at least =P. I hope all is well at your end of the world. I, as you all know, have been quite the busy bee. Anyway, today I am featuring a mani I did some time ago but never officially posted about. It was a mani for Sara's blog that featured two awesomely awesome polishes that are just awesome (is the awesomeness clear yet? =). So here we go... pictures first, info later? Oh hellz yes!
Blue + Holo = match made in polish heaven
Nom nom nom, I love yummy pics =P
Moar pics for good measure! =D Rawr!
So if you all are wondering which polishes I used, the base is obviously one of the ever-so-popular OMG polishes from China Glaze. The color is 2NITE -- a medium blue holo that looked absolutely AMAZING in the sun even all by its lonesome (or shall I say awesome? =D). And the funky french was completed with China Glaze Secret Periwinkle from the Spring 2010 Up and Away Collection. Secret Periwinkle is a beautiful periwinkle as the name states -- but I found that it leaned more towards blue than purple. Hope this helps you periwinkle lovers determine whether is it worthy enough for your collections teeheehee. That is all people! Hope you guys had a great weekend ^_^

Double Glitter French: CQ Silver Violet + Sinful Colors Frenzy
Hello all you lovely people out there. Don't forget to enter my giveaway which ends on October 15th! Click here or on the sidebar for more details. =)
The other day I went on a little nail polish hunting adventure and stopped by several stores in my area to see if there were any hidden treasures I had yet to discover. Sure enough, I found several brands that were unknown to me until that very trip. Today, I am featuring a brand called CQ that was found at my local Rite Aid drugstore. The base color I used is called Silver Violet (how original lol) and my glitter accent was actually done with Sinful Colors Frenzy (which I have already reviewed in a previous post here). The double French stripe that I did is actually like the design I featured in this post but with glitter instead of just regular nail polish colors. These little glitter details are great when you don't want to have a full on glitter mani but still like some pop and sparkle on your tips!
Silver Violet is a lavender creme with tiny silver and iridescent purple shimmer specks. If you look closely enough, there are even small bits of silver flakes that show up when the light hits it juuuuust right. Of course, this is me being super duper observant but hey, it's the little details right? =D Sinful Colors Frenzy is polish that is packed with tons of blue and purple glitter that's perfect for blinging up any mani. I think with the flash in these photos, I can't help but feel that I have slight lobster hand syndrome lol. But maybe that's just me being paranoid!...
So my nails have gotten pretty long lately. I think this is the longest it's been in a while and I am very tempted to chop all that length off! Still contemplating whether I should nubbinized them or try a different shape. I have done squoval and square. Wondering if oval or even stiletto nails would work? Ooooh, the possibilities. I'm probably just gonna leave them like the lazy bum that I am until they get on my nerves lol. Gotta be careful they don't get too long and break though! Anyway, I hope you all had a fabulous Labor Day weekend... welcome back to the regular week! =D

I'm a sucker for pretty purples

V French Stripes: Zoya Marina + China Glaze Millennium
Hot dang, I am back! Goodness gracious, my busy week is finally over. It has been so hectic for the past few days that I haven't had time to do much of anything! But all is well now and I am officially back to blogging... yay! So before I start with today's post, I'd just like to give a quick reminder to everyone out there that my 100 follower giveaway is still going on and you can still enter all the way up until October 15th, 2011. Click here for more details!
Onto today's mani... what I have for you is another scotch tape mani using two colors. My base polish was Zoya Marina from the current Fall 2011 Smoke and Mirrors Collection and China Glaze Millennium from the Fall 2009 Khrome Collection. Marina is a beautiful dark blue gray with silver microshimmer. The base polish actually has a slight streaky look to it that may show very minimal brush strokes but nothing that is bad in my opinion. Millennium is a popular silver mirror/chrome/foil color that has been around for quite some time. It dried extremely quickly! Please don't mind the outgrowth in my nails. I had this mani on for almost 5 days! Yes - I was that busy, no joke.
I really like this mani but going on 5 days is already way too long for me hahah. I can't wait to take this off and put on a fresh new coat of polish! I wonder what color I shall choose hrrrmmm.... so many choices! Anyway, it's good to be back guys! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend =).

For some reason, this mani gives off a "Wonder Woman" type of vibe =P

Funky French: Essence Irreplaceable + OPI Glitzerland
Hello beauties! Before I get into today's post, I just wanna tell you all really quickly that there is currently a deal on Saveology right now on a CVS gift card! You can click HERE to purchase a $10 gift card for only six bucks! I know they are currently having sales of buy one get one 50% off on brands including Revlon and such so I would definitely hurry over and grab the deal before it ends! In addition to that, you can stock up on your nail polish goodies and look for coupons online giving you either $4 off a $20 purchase or a $5 off a $25 purchase on top of that! If you also have ECBs, I don't think you're gonna be paying much at all. Some of my nail polish buddies have spotted several discontinued OPI shades at theirs!!! I think there's only a little over a day till the sale is over so go go go!
So on today's nails, I did a gold themed French tipped mani... but funk-tified! My base color is Essence Irreplaceable. This is a light tan with gold flecks that I matte-ified. It was so pretty when it was shiny but I wanted to give it a contrast to the tips. To complete the look, I used scotch tape to create a two stripe French with OPI Glitzerland.

Don't they kinda look like I dipped them into gold? =P
This mani was so hard to capture on camera!
Such a contrast in sizes heheh
I think this could be an awesome mani for a toga party or any Greek/Roman goddess type of Halloween look. It's not too crazy for every day wear either! I believe the Essence brand polishes were once an exclusive European brand but can now actually be found in the US at Ulta stores! Considering the mini size, the quality of the polish and brush were really great - and for $1 it's a heck of a steal. They had a good selection at mine so it was a win win for me. I *have* heard that they are going to be discontinuing some shades so this is an incentive to go out there and get them before they disappear forever!

Funky French: Essie Master Plan + OPI Mad as a Hatter
Lol guys, I could very well NOT leave my mani alone hahaha. So the work appropriate color was nice for several days but I just couldn't help myself - I added Mad as a Hatter on top for a funky french look! =D I love adding funky french tips because it extends your current mani AND hides chips and tip wear as it did for me!
All in all, I was incredibly lucky to find Mad as a Hatter! It's absolutely beautiful whether worn alone or as an added glitter bomb to any mani. Aahhhh, I love it! =)
I kid you not, this isn't photoshopped. It's THAT sparkly!
