My First Franken

Warning: this is gonna be a huge post. So remember that picture I left you guys with before I went off to Hawaii? You know, the one with the two bottles and apparently one of them was a franken? Well today I'm gonna be introducing you to the polish you've all been so patiently waiting for (and probably have forgotten about since it's been so long)! It doesn't quite have a name yet but I'm getting a good number of suggestions. I'm thinking anything galaxy/universe/space related would be awesome. Tons of pictures ahead...

Phew! *Wipes sweat off forehead* That was whole a lotta pictures. I hope you enjoyed! I basically mixed a bunch of base polishes together that consisted of a black jelly, some black with shimmer, and clear polish. I started adding the hex glitter first then added the bar glitter afterwards. I thinned to a consistency I liked and let it settle. Of course the glitter is pretty heavy and since the suspension I used was not meant for glitter, it required a good shaking (and resting!) before application.  Aaaaand, I'm done. Happy Friday people =).

Vacation & Teasers

Hello lovelies! So I'm about to go on vacation for several days - I'll be going to Hawaii to celebrate with some wonderful girlfriends! Ahhh, I'm so excited I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight =P.  Unfortunately, I won't have access to my computer during those days but maybe I could sneak in a few mobile posts or two if I'm not too busy enjoying my island adventure teehee. Until then, here are some teaser pictures to show you what posts lie ahead in the near future!

 

Hrmmm, intrigued yet? I know the picture qualities are absolutely craptastic but it adds to the whole air of mystery, no?  Maybe you need something else to pique your interest? One (or maybe more?) of them is a franken... !!! Be patient and you will find out soon enough. =P

Cupcake Franken

Hello all! Special feature today... the extremely creative Rebecca from rebeccalikesnails made a franken polish several weeks ago that I just *had* to try and recreate. She details her entire recipe which you can find here. This franken is just too freaking adorable! As always, you can click the pictures for more details.

 

 

 

I followed her directions and tweaked whatever I needed to get the color right. My polish came out a little on the thicker side so this was actually two coats with a top coat.  I can't help staring at my nails, they definitely remind me of a cupcake! So stinkin' cute =P.  If you're feeling the need for a little experimentation without the fear of the end results being a complete disaster, you should definitely check her blog and try this franken out!  This makes me want to give it a go with my own frankening. Will definitely do so in the very near future! =D
