Pink Wednesday: KBShimmer Berry Patch

Hello all. Before I begin today's post I'd just like to have a mini vent.  Don't you just hate it when a polish comes in a trio or pack of some sort and you are forced to order the entire pack if you want that single polish? And I get that there is really no way around it when it comes to buying from retail brands but my personal issue was with a private seller. There was a polish from an indie seller on etsy, of all places, that I wanted to purchase from -- but it came... in a pack. Now I've had such pleasant interactions with every single indie seller up until this point. Every etsy seller has been so accommodating with custom orders since it is a personally run business after all. And I'm all for supporting small businesses! However, that was not the case with this seller. When I contacted her, I was informed that it was simply impossible to sell the polish alone since it came pre-packaged in a pack. Seriously? Okay, I get that you don't want to sell it individually because you also want to profit from selling the other two lame polishes but as far as being impossible to sell it alone because your stock is already pre-packaged? What. How. Uhh... okay. Don't you mix these by hand? And package them -- by hand? Unless all the labor that goes into your polish shop is done by robots. Then that would be awesome and only then would it be a valid, nay, kickass, excuse for having pre-packaged stuff! I will not name the seller but c'mon now, way to drive customers away from your business. Geez Louise. Looks like I will be crossing this etsy shop off my list forever. You are dead to me. Ugh. Sorry guys, this is usually a happy place for pretty things but sometimes, something like this happens that just makes you want to wrinkle your nose and scrunch your brow and maybe even kick a poor soul or two, know what I mean? Okay, thank you for letting me have my moment! I'm usually a pretty optimistic/happy person but that was just not cool. /endrant (I guess that wasn't such a mini vent after all, sorry!)

Onto much happier things! It's Pink Wednesday y'all =). And as such, today I have for you a gorgeous polish from an etsy seller who was an absolute pleasure to do business with. This is Berry Patch from KBShimmer. Pictures first, shall we?

Christy's description says it best: "A creamy pink base sets off large blueberry hex glitter, small raspberry hex gliiter, holographic pink glitter and micro strawberry red glitter and raspberry pink glitter. Bits of ice, in the form of holographic sliver glitter complete this yummy treat."

This was 2 thick coats with an additional 2 coats of gelous and Seche Vite to finish it all off. I am so happy I have polishes like this to brighten my day =). If not, I think I would have to seriously karate chop a B. Thanks for reading and humoring me guys. Have a lovely day!

A Reverse Glitter & Flakie Gradient

A quick post today. I like this one. I like this one a lot.

Base color was Sally Hansen Navy Baby, a blackened blue shimmer -- one coat of pure perfection. The gradient was done using Island Girl Island Volcano and Pure Ice Heart Breaker. Love.

Autism Awareness: A Blue Jelly Sandwich

Hi everyone. As some of you may know, April is autism awareness month with April 2nd being World Autism Awareness Day. The color blue and the puzzle piece symbol have been widely recognized as support for raising autism awareness. There are many of us out there with loved ones who have one form or another of autism. In my own personal support for autism awareness, here is a blue jelly sandwich creation I came up with for today.

This was 4 thin coats of Essie Marshmallow, 1 coat of Icing Disco Ball, and 1 final thin coat of Essie Marshmallow.  This is my first official jelly sandwich and I must say that I am quite pleased with the results. If you are interested in showing your support for autism awareness, you can sport a blue ribbon or wear a puzzle piece pin throughout the month of April. Thanks for reading everyone! Have a lovely week.

Candeo Colors Dive Bomb

First off, I'd like to begin this post by saying WOOHOO for my 100th blog post!!! Wow, has it really been the big 100 already? Suh-weeeeet!

So are you ladies (and gents) ready for some eye candy today? It is Friday after all right? Let's celebrate!  I'm sure you all have noticed the abundance of indie brand polishes that have been popping up left and right. Seriously, some of these indie brands are really bringing it. And I mean bringin' it with a side of two snaps =P. Featured today are two manis using Candeo Colors Dive Bomb. And let me tell you, I am in *love* with this polish. You guys don't mind if I spam you with pictures right? Well, behold! Feast your eyes on the magic ahead...

 Index & ring: Revlon Royal
Middle & pinky: New York Summer Hot Sky Blue
Both bases are awesome blue jellies!

Finger Paints Lemon Sour & NYX Maven for the base
Topped off with Essie Matte About You

This was only ONE layer of glitter my friends. Every coat went on smoothly and I got a good chunk of various sized glitters every single time. Removal takes a bit more effort but of course that is expected with all glitters. I actually didn't even have to use the foil method - a little extra scrubbing with regular polish remover (no pure acetone needed!) was all it took.

So are you drooling yet? Do you guys need resuscitation now or have you already caught your breath? Okay, now that you're all back with me, the big question is where can you find this beauty? Well, you can check out Candeo Colors, an etsy shop owned by the lovely Melinda who hand mixes all these wonderful creations. I believe she is debuting a new collection soon so be sure to keep your eyes open for that! I hope you all enjoyed today's manis as much as I enjoyed doing them! Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for reading my lovelies! =D

Barielle Falling Star

Hi beautiful people! This is my first Barielle mani and I am pleased to tell you all that I am happy with the results. The application, however, is a different story. This was seriously Goopy McGooperson as far as formula goes. I had to add at least 15 drops of thinner to get it to a consistency I thought was good for application. That's really saying something since I usually don't mind goopy formulas so much but this formula was goopy. The saving grace is that it is a unique color. Let's take a look, shall we?

Left: Indoors, Middle: Shade, Right: Sunlight

Like I said, this is a unique color so I was pretty forgiving given the sheisty formula. It took two coats to get complete coverage but it also needed an extra coat of Seche Vite due to the bumpyness caused by all the red glitter. Was it worth it? I think so. But then again, I love unique polishes and it's hard for me to resist colors and finishes that aren't so common. I'd say it's definitely a color worth getting if you're planning to make a Barielle purchase some time soon. I believe they are buy one get one 50% off on their site right now. Sometimes they even have site-wide sales in addition to their regular prices. So there yah go. My first Barielle mani but most certainly not my last. Thanks for reading and happy Monday people!

Spectraflair Manis

Hi everyone, how have you all been? A bit of a special one today... here we have a double feature post consisting of two manis using a spectraflair franken I made. A little backstory behind this franken is that I actually bought the pigment from a seller online who has been providing the special rainbow magic to tons of us in the nail polish community. Sadly, I heard that he recently passed away. These manis are a thank you to Sid - you will be missed! Thanks for providing us with endless possibilities to create some awesome polishes and enjoy what we love! =D

Cosmestic Arts Purple for Base, 1 coat of Spectraflair

Cosmetic Arts Teal for Base, 2 coats of Spectraflair

Goodness, it's been SUPER bright out lately. Great for holo manis of course so I hope you guys enjoyed these. Spectraflair can pretty much make any base color look holo-rific! Also, since I am getting extremely close to that 300 follower mark, I'm thinking about including this in a future giveaway too. But, I shall figure that all out later! Till then, I hope everyone has been having a wonderful day. Love you all! XOXO
