To a New Year

Hi everyone. I did not forget about this blog :). I've just been preoccupied with life. Yes, life happens. This will not make up for my absence but it will show you that I have not been neglecting my nails (pinky swear). Remember when my nails were this long?

Zoya Sooki

Well like I said, life happens! Family, friends, new jobs, new responsibilities, new nails! Now I normally don't do nail spam on my blog but I've been keeping a few mani photos on hand during my hiatus so here they are. It's mini spam but hey, at least it's something :D. Looks like it was back to basics, guys...

69 Cent Couture

If my title isn't the epitome of an oxymoron, then I don't know what is =P. Explanation for it? To create this smexy mani, I used Wet n Wild Black Creme which I got for only 69 cents at Walgreens. WIN! Let's take a break from the indies and indulge in a drug store polish for today okay? GUYS, this has got to be one of my most favorite manis evaaaaar! Holler back to this post. Less talk, more pics!

Black Creme + matte top coat + scotch tape = giggety giggety. I haz no words. Happy Friday!!! *dances*

Tuxedo Nails

Hey everyone! I hope you all have been well. As you've noticed, there are a few small changes to my blog. I stayed up late last night tinkering with a few layouts and such. I hope everything is now easier to read and the site is easier to navigate (not that it was a big problem before, I don't think). Bonus pop out Facebook "like" tab on the side and Pinterest buttons below every post, yay! Now onto more important business...

I always wanted to do a tuxedo mani but never had the time or patience to sit down and figure out how I wanted to go about doing so. Well that no longer is true! Let's take a look at what I came up with, shall we?

I used China Glaze White on White, a slightly off white creme, for the base and Wet n Wild Ebony Hates Chris for the tuxedo "accents". I actually used tape for the edges and just free handed the ties and buttons with dotting tools. This mani was quite easier than I had anticipated so I'm glad it wasn't as big of a pain in the bum as I initially thought it would be. So what do you guys think? Am I ready for my formal dinner and acceptance speech? =P Have any of you guys tried any tuxedo manis as of late or even in the past for that matter?

Also, I'd like to say a quick thank you to all my followers! I passed the 300 mark several days ago and that just made my day. You guys are wonderful -- I appreciate all your support! Stay awesome, you awesome people you. =P Giveaway details coming sometime in the near future...

Rivka Holografico Jenny

Hi everyone. So guess what? I'm sick. =( Sooooo sick. I have been for the last several days and I still am uggggh. I've been trying to get some rest and drink some meds but nope, still sick. I didn't want to go TOO long without posting so here is a very special polish I recently received from an absolutely wonderful friend from Brazil.

Oh man, she is sooooo pretty <3

This is one of my most favorite charcoal grey holographic polishes ever! I really love it. I hope I get over this soon because it's no fun to be feeling all out of sorts lately. Hopefully it'll get better ASAP! I'm supposed to go to Palm Springs with friends in a couple days! >_<  Lol, crossing my fingers for the best here. Thanks for reading you guys!

Hello hello! Bet you thought I wouldn't be back so quick, did yah?? Hahaha, I had to make up for missing those days of non blogging somehow! Today I have a polish from Diamond Cosmetics that I believe nail polish lovers are pretty well aware of. It's the popular Chainmail Charm that was previously sold out due to formulation issues. I think it had to do with their supply of holographic pigment but apparently they claim that the "original" formula is back. So upon hearing this and considering that I was not yet a lacquer lover when the original did come out, I of course had to order it. Well I did and here it is! I have heard of people saying that they got duds but I don't think I got a dud? I believe this is more of a "holo light" polish as opposed to a full blown in your face holo (like say, the OMG collection from China Glaze). Lots of pics head so you guys can see for yourself...

See what I mean by "holo light?"  Still pretty of course!

The formula was actually pretty thick and goopy upon first application. I had to thin it with almost 30 drops of thinner! After some good thinning, I applied three more thin coats and also one coat of Seche Vite (which I do not think dulled the holo). From the pictures, you can tell that the polish is more holo on the nail as compared to when it's in the bottle. I have other polishes that are like this as well. If you get a bottle (of any polish for that matter) and are disappointed that it doesn't look like the holo you had anticipated, don't fret. Do some swatches before making your final judgments. This was actually true of my Nfu Oh bottles! Yes -- I did freak out at first, BUT thank the lawd it was all good after some swatches =D. I hope this helps you guys who were curious about this particular polish! Happy Thursday everyone!

Lynnderella Connect the Dots

Click here to enter my current giveaway! Click here to get your 50% off Aveyou Beauty card! You can read more about that in this post. Be sure to click on "National" to take you to the Aveyou deal. And finally, click here to view my swap list!

Heeheehee... I know I've been MIA for a little bit but that's only because I've had really important things to take care of. I think you will forgive me when I feature today's polish of the day. It's the ever-so-famous Lynnderella polishes in none other than Connect the Dots! It's one of the most unique glitter polishes I have ever owned. Lynn makes her own special blend of hand crafted polishes and sells them only once in a blue moon. I was lucky enough to catch her most recent sale and bought this baby as soon as I could get my hands on it! It's an awesome black and white hex, bar, and speckled glitter that pretty much sums up the name perfectly. This is layered over Essie's Master Plan which I have featured previously in this post and this post.

Umm, could this polish *BE* anymore perfect??? (You must say that in a Chandler voice, props if you know what I'm talking about =P). I am in love with this polish! I can't wait to try on the other polishes I received from her most previous sale as well. I am such a fan girl of Lynnderella and her beauties! No one else comes close! =D
